Funding

The Marian Bergeson Excellence in Public Service Series is privately funded through contributions from individuals and corporations, and is organized as a political organization with an education purpose under Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Unlike most political action committees, the Bergeson Series does not fund candidates or issues.  We are dedicated to educating and training Republican Women to help them to position themselves politically, be it as a candidate for office, working for a legislator, seeking a politcal appointment or working for a company or corporation in a political capacity.

Individuals and corporations may contribute by becoming sponsors of the Series, the Series cannot accept contributions from foundations. As a 527 organization, contributions are not tax deductible. Our students pay a fee of $250 for the series and are responsible for raising $1,000 for the Series by supporting our annual event. They are encouraged to continue supporting the series after graduation. Board Members are also required to raise $1,000 for the Series.
